KYLE VU-DUNN A NAIL IN A CHERRY PITOpening Reception: Saturday, June 4th 6-9PM THE JAVA PROJECT 252 Java Street Brooklyn, NY 11222 A Nail in a Cherry Pit takes visual cues from early computer games' strategy of rendering complex organic forms via flat planes of pattern. In this set-up, it's you, the viewer's, perspective relative to the screens that determines the size and depth of the object's edges. This object is in equal measures plant or animal, landscape or building, and is meant to be seen and seen through. Like a cherry pit, it's all edges and potential in a pink plush until ingestion. On view until July 1, 2016. |
